About Me

One of the best things a girl can get out of life is how to be comfortable in her own skin.  The pressures today’s society place on girls to succeed and to be “beautiful” dampens our ability to be one with ourselves.  I have discovered that the Bible has some great advice to help all of us girls get through life.  One problem is we don’t always know where to find it.  I want this to be a place where we can see the sociological issues placed on our shoulders, and how God can help us through them.  I want this to be a place where we can all go to become one with ourselves.

I am one of those girls, the kind that grew up in the church and never really talked to boys.  I am the one who girls would come to for advice; I had tricked the world into believing that I was comfortable in my own skin.  For the most part I am, comfortable I mean, yet no one is ever one hundred percent confident in whom they are.  There is always a part of us that is uncertain about everything, even our own selves.  The only way I have found to overcome that doubting part of my mind is God.  He is everything and he makes everything all right.  He is “the way, the truth, and the light.”

I could probably start this paragraph off thee same way I did the last, I am one of those girls.  Well I am, I am the kind of girl who forgot to grow up.  If you don’t believe me here is a longwinded list of my favorite things… I love the smell of roses and the smell of my barn, a combination of hay, horse, leather, and dust. Every person has a happy place, and mine is galloping through a field of tall grass and wildflowers in a sundress, barefoot with my hair blowing in the wind behind me.  I am a hopeless romantic, forever lost in my own daydreams about Prince Charming.   I love, love, love to ride horses.  I would choose the open country over the beach any day; however, I am a sucker for the feeling of having sand between my toes.  The great majority of my friends all come from my church youth group and I don’t know what I would do without them.  I am still afraid of the dark, and I love fairies, princesses, and anything else that reminds me of being a little girl.

Love Forever and Always,

Jess
